Frances M Lynch and Ellie Logan invite you to come along and find out about getting involved with a new project called “Fishing for Science”. Frances is a renowned composer who is bringing her show “Scottish Superwomen of Science” to Eyemouth. She is also working with Dr Karen Diele of St Abbs Marine Station and Napier University on a new piece of music “The Invertebrates Lament” which is making music from lobsters! (you can hear a preview of this work on https://soundcloud.com/electricvoicetheatre/an-underwater-lament and see Karen Diele’s profile here http://superwomenofscience.co.uk/scientists/karen-diele/
Frances is inviting the people of Eyemouth to get involved with creating music (and or song) and perform it as part of her show. Ellie will be helping to co facilitate the sessions. Any one of us can create sound and the workshops will be fun and interactive. There are a lot of themes we can explore such as the 1881 Fishing Disaster, weather forecasting, fishing today, the sounds of the harbour, the importance of the harbour, living in Eyemouth today….
Please come along and join in. And spread the word. All welcome.Following the performance the bar will be open for a post production celebration….We hope you can join us!
