A regular performer on the jazz scene in Scotland and London, Louise Dodds has performed at many of the UK’s top jazz festivals and venues, including a headline slot at the London Jazz Festival at Pizza Express. Hailing from Edinburgh originally, she has enjoyed an international career, and her musicality and vocal ability has allowed her to call upon the UK’s top jazz musicians to accompany her.
In 2014, Louise became one of only a handful of UK jazz artists to be awarded touring support from Jazz Services UK and the Arts Council England for the tour, her tribute to the late great Horace Silver, ‘A Song for Horace’.
Louise was also semi-finalist at the International Jazz Vocalist competition in Lithuania in 2012. After a 4 year hiatus, Louise returned to the stage in 2018, and is back performing her trademark blend of fresh arrangements of jazz standards, bebop classics, self penned vocaleses and original material.
In addition to being a jazz vocalist and composer, Louise is also a published songwriter in other genres. As well as having several tracks released in Europe, she is also sub-published by BMG in the US and UK.
