Singin I’m Not a Billy He’s a Tim by Des Dillon (strong language throughout, recommended for those aged 16 and over) is a heart-warming comedy about bigotry, sectarianism and the threat of violence. When a Rangers fan and a Celtic fan are locked up in the same cell on the day of an Old Firm game, what could possibly go wrong?
Directed by Ben Foreman, who also features as Billy, this latest production from the acclaimed Duns Players troupe, also showcases the talents of Dougal Affleck, a long-standing star of Duns and Musselburgh musical theatre, as Tim, and Nigel Warren as the patient kindly turnkey Harry whose personal problems put all the football-related antagonism into perspective.
This production comes straight from its run at the Volunteer Hall, Duns, and will be the Duns Players’ first ever appearance at the Hippodrome.
Licensed bar available before and after the play. Enter the spirit of the game with a beer and a pie …or just enjoy a nice cup of tea!
